Poetry. About sanity.

Oatmeal
By Paul Klusman

The thing about oatmeal
It's always boring and plain
It would drive some crazy
It helps keep me sane

  1. A great haiku is short and easily understood by virtue of it's universality. The blandness of oatmeal is universal. It's blandness keeping you centered is something we can all relate to at one time or another. This poem conveys much information with no unnecessary words.

  2. My human's oatmeal is anything but bland. It has heavy cream, maple syrup and candied pecans in it. But then, it would also probably defeat the purpose of your haiku.
